Tsalka is located in the Kvemo Kartli region of southern Georgia, about 1,500 meters above sea level, in the upper valley of the Khrami River. This historically multiethnic area has long been home to Georgians, Greeks, Armenians, and other ethnic groups. Its volcanic landscapes, vast plains, and dramatic canyons give the region a unique and captivating charm.

Didgori – The Field of Victory

The tour begins at Didgori Field, where in 1121 King David the Builder achieved a legendary victory in the Battle of Didgori. The monument standing there symbolizes one of the most glorious moments in Georgia’s history. The site offers magnificent mountain views and a powerful sense of history.

Manglisi Sioni Church

Next, we visit Manglisi Sioni, one of Georgia’s oldest Christian churches (dating back to the 4th–6th centuries). Hidden among forested hills, the church is admired for its ancient architecture, peaceful atmosphere, and spiritual significance.

Dashbashi Canyon

The highlight of the trip is the Dashbashi Canyon, located in the Tsalka municipality. Famous for its basalt cliffs and 80-meter waterfall, it is one of Georgia’s most spectacular natural wonders. A modern glass bridge and tourist complex offer breathtaking panoramic views of the canyon below.

Tsalka Reservoir

The final stop is the Tsalka Reservoir, an artificial lake that looks like a sea from afar. It’s a perfect spot for a picnic, relaxation, or a scenic photo session, surrounded by mountain views and tranquil nature.
